Industry Partnership on EMERPHED™ (Ephedrine Sulfate) Study Bolsters Opportunity for Research and Education
The School of Pharmacy partnered with Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for a pharmaceutical clinical-use study to compare a ready-to-use ephedrine sulfate product, to the commercially-used concentrated ephedrine sulfate in a simulated operating room setting using MCW’s Standardized Teaching Assessment Resources (STAR) Center.
The Pharmacy School and Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. have partnered to compare the use of EMERPHED™, a ready-to-use ephedrine sulfate product, to the commercially used concentrated ephedrine sulfate in a clinical setting.
The STAR Center works with several external organizations to help them meet their training needs. This involves use of the Center and simulators along with our trained standardized patients.
Russ has been with the Standardized Patient Program since 2007. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a BA in English, he joined the Peace Corps, serving two years in Peru working in community development.
The STAR Center serves as a resource for several MCW programs that train members throughout our community.
