Milwaukee, Nov. 1, 2021 – The St. Francis Children’s Center honored Medical College of Wisconsin President and CEO John Raymond, Sr., with its Humanitarian Award during the 2021 Leading Lights Award Banquet on Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Each year, St. Francis Children’s Center honors a group of outstanding community leaders while raising funds to support the special education, pediatric therapy and support services that we provide to children with special needs and developmental delays.

“As a nonprofit organization that serves children with special needs, St. Francis Children’s Center is extremely grateful that Dr. Raymond stepped up during the COVID-19 crisis to provide guidance and expertise during one of our community’s most challenging times,” said Mara A. Duckens, executive director of the St. Francis Children’s Center. “We appreciate his commitment to keeping our children and families safe and healthy and could not think of a more worthy recipient of our Humanitarian Award.”

In addition to Dr. Raymond’s award, Steve and Melanie Booth of Baird were honored with the Children’s Service Award and Melissa Allen of Maures Development Group was honored with the Community Service Award. Previous winners of the Humanitarian Award include John and Kim Schlifske, Dennis Klein, Mary Lou Young and Nan Gardetto.
