Fellowship Overview

The Breast Imaging Fellowship match is sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) and is managed by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The 2022-2023 Academic Interview Year begins according to the NRMP schedule for Radiology Fellowships. The NRMP has announced the schedule for the 2022 Radiology Fellowship Match for 2023 Appointments.

NRMP Schedule

  • August 1, 2021: Programs may accept applications
  • November 1, 2021: Virtual Interview Period begins
  • March 2022: Match opens
  • April 2022: Ranking opens
  • May 2022: Quota change deadline
  • May 2022: Ranking closes
  • June 2022: Match Day
  • July 1, 2023: Training begins

Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • Have satisfactorily completed a diagnostic radiology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the RCPSC, or an AOA diagnostic radiology program in ACGME pre-accreditation status;
  • Be American Board of Radiology (ABR) eligible; and
  • Be eligible to obtain licensure to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin. A valid license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin must be obtained prior to the start the fellowship year.
