Jason Jarzembowski, MD, PhD, Elected to the American Board of Pathology Board of Trustees
Milwaukee, Sept. 12, 2025 – The American Board of Pathology (ABPath) recently announced that Jason Jarzembowski, MD, PhD, has been elected to its Board of Trustees. His term as trustee begins on January 1, 2026; he currently serves on the Anatomic Pathology Certlink Test Development and Advisory Committee.
Dr. Jarzembowski is Vice Chair for Pediatric Pathology and Professor of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Specialty Group, a not-for-profit, multi-specialty academic group practice of MCW and Children’s Wisconsin with nearly 500 pediatric specialty physicians and more than 300 pediatric advanced practice providers. He earned his doctorate in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his medical degree with research honors at MCW. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Michigan, followed by a fellowship in pediatric pathology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Jarzembowski is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Pediatric Pathology and is participating in the Continuing Certification Program.
Dr. Jarzembowski has chaired the Children’s Oncology Group’s Pathology Committee since 2016 and was an expert editor for the inaugural WHO Classification of Tumours: Paediatric Tumours.
Additionally, he is Associate Editor of the journals Pediatric and Developmental Pathology and American Journal of Clinical Pathology. He also serves on the editorial board of the Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, and co-authored the College of American Pathologists cancer reporting protocols for neuroblastoma.
He has previously served on the board of directors for the Society for Pediatric Pathology and chaired both its Research and the Informatics and Communication Committees.
The ABPath’s Board of Trustees is comprised of 12 board-certified pathologist members and one public member. Trustees are elected for three-year terms and may serve up to four terms.
