MCW Pathology & Laboratory Medicine - Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology

The Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology Service provides diagnostic evaluation of endoscopic biopsies, endoscopic resections, and surgical resections of the gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatobiliary tracts. The service also provides expertise in liver transplant pathology.

The gastrointestinal and liver pathology section examines approximately 8,000 specimens per year, reviewing a variety of benign, pre-neoplastic and neoplastic conditions to provide the most appropriate care.

The section participates is several multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards on a weekly basis and is actively involved in teaching rotating medical students, pathology residents, and the gastrointestinal pathology fellow.
