Security Training for dbGaP Data Access

Course Description
Security Awareness training that is required for all individuals using/accessing the dbGaP Data. MCW-IS has developed training for users that will be accessing the database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP). It is very important that computers used to access dbGaP data go through the proper documentation and certification within MCW along with the user accounts.

Course Instructions: 

  1. PI completes and submits an electronic data request to dbGaP.
  2. Review Security Awareness Training and complete attestation that follows. Research Systems will notify the Grants and Contracts Office when training is complete.
  3. MCW-IS will notify the Grants and Contracts Office once all systems and storage have been identified, documented, and certified.
  4. Once all steps completed, the Grants and Contracts Office will submit the approval of the dbGaP Data request to NIH.
