Scholarship & Research

Scholarly work will be a foundational component of this fellowship.

Fellows will receive structured mentorship throughout the process of developing and publishing medical education research. This includes support with IRB submissions, navigating QI/QA processes, applying for grants, and participating in the department’s Education Research and Writing Group. Fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of mentors on a broad range of scholarly projects – from FOAMed content to peer-reviewed manuscripts.

We also offer a stipend to pursue a Master's in Education to deepen your educational expertise while building a national network of fellow educators.

Leadership Development

Fellows will work closely with educational leadership in the Department of Emergency Medicine to develop the skills necessary for future roles as emergency medicine academic leaders.

Through hands-on involvement in clerkship and residency operations, including budgeting, program development and evaluation, and learner remediation, fellows gain valuable insight into the administrative and strategic aspects of emergency medicine medical education.

By the end of the fellowship, each fellow will have begun to establish their own leadership platform to prepare themselves for roles as future leaders in academic emergency medicine.
