MCW Pediatric Residency Training Program
Welcome from our Program Director
Michael C. Weisgerber, MD, MS
It is our pleasure to introduce you to the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Pediatric Residency Training Program website. We are very proud of our program, and we are glad to have the opportunity to share it with you. We believe that our program successfully combines all of the elements which make up the ideal pediatric residency training program. The educational curriculum is structured to provide experiences of breadth and depth in all areas of pediatrics to all residents, while allowing residents the time and support to pursue their individual interests, whether that is in primary care, community pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine, global health, or academic subspecialty pediatrics. Why Choose Our Program?
"My favorite thing about being an MCW pediatric resident is the variety of patient stories, backgrounds, and disease processes that I have been able to see since coming to CHW. I have been moved by the patients and families beyond what I had expected and fascinated by what I thought I might only see once or twice in my career rather than in my first few months."
– Tristan Levey, MCW pediatric preliminary resident, class of 2016
"My favorite thing about being an MCW pediatric resident is the attention to teaching. From teaching on rounds to noon conferences to night teaching for the residents on night float to grand rounds, I feel like I'm always being given the opportunity to learn more."
– Cassy ZumMallen, MCW pediatric resident, class of 2018
"My favorite thing about being an MCW pediatric resident is the friendships and relationships that I have not only made with my co-colleagues, but also with some of the wonderful staff including nurses, RTs, attendings, and other faculty."
– Danielle DuMez, MCW pediatric resident, class of 2017
