Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center

The Zablocki VA is a 182-bed tertiary medical facility located approximately five miles from Froedtert Hospital. Neurosurgical patients share a surgical intensive care unit and accommodations on the general surgical floor. Outpatient clinic facilities are in the main hospital building.

More than four decades in the making, the Milwaukee VA Spinal Cord Injury/Disease Center opened in early 2012. At 68,000 square feet, the $27.5 million facility nearly quadruples the size of the current unit for spinal cord patients at the medical center, which treats about 400 veterans from 22 states annually.
