Receiving numerous awards for clinical excellence, both Children's and MCW strive to provide state-of-the-art translational research, technology, preventative medicine, and cures for a wide scope of pediatric disorders. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin was founded in 1894. They have been ranked among the best in the nation in 8 specialties included in U.S. News & World Report's 2022-23 Best Children's Hospitals report, and are verified as a Level I Children's Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons.

Children's Wisconsin employs 35 board-certified anesthesiologists with special training in pediatric anesthesiology that have helped perform 16,150 successful surgeries in the last year.
The Max McGee National Research Center for Juvenile Diabetes serves more than 1,500 children with Type I and Type II diabetes, and is comprised of board-certified/board-eligible pediatric endocrinologists.
Children's Wisconsin houses the largest Level IV NICU in Wisconsin, which is the to-tier neonatal care available, staffed with board-certified neonatologists.
The Clinical Immunodiagnostic and Research Laboratory (CIRL) at MCW provides a comprehensive panel of pediatric immunodeficiency diagnostic services in affiliation with the Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology Center.
Children's Wisconsin Al McGuire Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) serves as a regional referral center, meeting the guidelines of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
