Community Engagement

About the Office of Community Engagement

The Office of Community Engagement (CE) is dedicated to improve the health of communities of Wisconsin and beyond by advancing the art and science of community engagement.

Community engagement, one of the four missions at the MCW, is richly embedded in office programs and throughout MCW centers, institutes, and departments. The office is dedicated to leadership and excellence through community engagement and partners with community organizations to enhance learning, research, patient care, and the health of the community.

With strong support from Syed M. Ahmed, MD, MPH, DrPH, associate provost and senior associate dean for community engagement, the Office of Community Engagement provides a variety of resources to both academic and community partners to advance community engagement at MCW.

Community Engagement Core

Housed under the Office of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement Core serves as a central, transformative resource that catalyzes and supports community engaged research (CEnR) practitioners both at MCW and throughout the community and encourages the growth of mutually-beneficial partnerships that have the potential to impact health in Wisconsin. The Community Engagement Core is funded through the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin (AHW) Endowment Research and Education Program.
