Michael Weisgerber, MD, MS

Director, Pediatric Residency Training Program
Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Weisgerber received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his pediatric residency at the Medical College of Georgia. He then returned to Milwaukee to complete a fellowship in general academic pediatrics and master’s degree in epidemiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following fellowship he joined the Department of Pediatrics faculty as a pediatric hospitalist in 2004. He was an associate director of the pediatric residency program from 2008-2012 before becoming the program director in 2012.

Dr. Weisgerber is an avid sports fan and he enjoys playing, coaching, and spectating. The only teams he likes more than Marquette are his daughters’ soccer teams. He enjoys the diversity of patients and conditions he sees as a hospitalist and is active in many aspects of medical education – from administration, to teaching on the wards, to educational research.

"I love having three jobs in one – being a hospitalist, a clinician-educator and a Program Director! The people here at MCW are fantastic – whether it is the patients, the faculty, the nurses, the students, the fellows, the administrative staff – and of course the residents. I can’t imagine being anywhere else."

Associate Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Rogers received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago. She completed her pediatric residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin followed by a chief residency year at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following her chief year, she joined the Department of Pediatrics at MCW as a pediatric hospitalist.

Her role as a hospitalist has allowed her to continue to enjoy the two things about MCW she loved the most: the amazing breadth of patients that are cared for here and the ability to work closely with residents. She thoroughly enjoyed her time as chief resident being involved with medical education and was thrilled to return to Med Ed as an associate program director in 2015. She particularly enjoys being involved with simulation education and quality improvement work.

Although she frequently returns to nearby Chicago to visit family, she now calls Milwaukee home and has loved sharing all the city has to offer with her husband and two children.

Dr. Mehta received her undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University and her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. She completed her pediatrics training at Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland, and her child neurology residency at Boston Children’s Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric neurocritical care at Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Mehta was on faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine for five years prior to joining the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Her academic interests include neurocritical care, stroke, medical education, and mentorship of junior faculty and trainees. Her clinical research interests involve interventions to improve outcomes for children with critical neurologic illness. She has served as APD since 2022 and is also the program director of the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Fellowship. A native of Boston, the move to MCW and Milwaukee was a big leap, but Dr. Mehta could not be happier.

“I have my dream job with amazing colleagues in a wonderful city. What more could I want?” In her free time, Dr. Mehta enjoys yoga, running, playing board games, cooking, and traveling with her husband and stepdaughter.
