Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Wisconsin Preliminary Internship in Pediatrics

The Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Wisconsin are pleased to offer a preliminary internship in Pediatrics. This one-year position is available for candidates who require a preliminary year before entering another residency program.

We are excited by the opportunity to provide you with a preliminary experience focused on pediatrics as you prepare for your career in medicine. The curriculum and experience is identical to that of a PL1 Categorical Resident except for the continuity clinic experience. For continuity clinic, the preliminary residents are encouraged to spend a half-day per week in the clinic or major clinical setting of their field. Residents in all fields have found the experience to be extremely valuable in their future specialties.
