Regional Campuses

Our Green Bay and Central Wisconsin campuses were the first new medical school campuses to open in Wisconsin in a century. This bold investment is just one way that MCW has stepped up to meet the critical nationwide shortage of healthcare providers. Our regional campuses prepare the next generation of family practitioners, general surgeons, and psychiatrists in areas of the state where healthcare providers are most needed. The campuses blend MCW’s excellent educational resources with the opportunity to learn in communities similar to those where students will eventually practice.

Both our Green Bay and Central Wisconsin campuses use an innovative three-year curriculum model with early clinical experiences that immerse students in the community. This accelerated model not only reduces students’ college debt—it also allows graduates to begin practice one year sooner, more quickly bringing their talents and skills to the communities where they’re needed most

Wisconsin offers very few post-graduate educational opportunities outside of the Milwaukee area. We need to provide residency slots in central and northern Wisconsin to expand training opportunities that translate to healthier communities statewide.
