Clinical Opportunities

In the clinical setting, the fellowship is designed to give each fellow extensive exposure to clinical evaluation and proper patient selection for both operative and nonoperative management in inpatient and outpatient environments. Fellows will be involved in comprehensive patient care, the use of diagnostic tools, and the surgical management of various skull base conditions, including tumor-related, vascular, traumatic, congenital, and other pathological diseases and abnormalities. Specifically, fellows will gain expertise in the expanded endoscopic endonasal approach across all planes, as well as minimal access keyhole techniques for skull base surgery. As the fellowship progresses, each fellow will take on increasing responsibility for patient management.

Research Opportunities

In the research domain, the fellowship is designed to offer extensive experience in the methods and execution of both basic and clinical research. Fellows will gain the skills necessary to initiate basic science research focused on skull base disorders, whether in biomechanics, neurophysiology, or neuropathology. Recognizing the essential need for physicians who can not only provide treatment but also advance the field, academic involvement is strongly encouraged and supported.
