Our Services

The Department strives to provide exceptional patient care by delivering state of the art radiotherapy services in a compassionate, personalized, efficient and value-based manner, that is grounded by expertise and experience with the latest oncologic and radiotherapeutic principles and practices.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy is delivered using multi-vendor-latest technology linac machines to treat cancerous tumors, lesions, and several benign conditions via high-energy radiation, x-rays or electron beams.

Proton Therapy room

Proton Therapy

Proton therapy uses proton particles to target tumors rather than the photon energy available with other precision radiation technologies. It will soon be available for adult and pediatric cancer patients with certain types of cancer

MRI Guided Adaptive Radiation Therapy

MRI-Guided Adaptive Radiation Therapy

Adaptive Radiation Therapy (ART) is a state-of-the-art approach that uses a feedback process to account for patient-specific anatomic and/or biological changes, thus, delivering highly individualized radiation therapy for cancer patients.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery Planning Discussion

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy

Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is an advanced external beam radiation therapy used to treat cancers on linear accelerators. Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is a radiation treatment for small inoperable intracranial lesions with high precision using advanced imaging (MRI) and multiple convergent radiation beams through an arc or sphere.

Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is defined as the placement of radioactive sources directly into or close to a tumor. High radiation doses are delivered to the cancer cells with rapid fall-off in dose to normal tissues.

Pediatric Radiation Therapy

Pediatric Radiation Therapy

We use high energy conventional external beam therapy and total body irradiation to target various childhood cancers. While the primary goal is to deliver safe and accurate radiation, we also inspire to make the treatment unique and comfortable for our pediatric patients.

Superficial and Total Irradiation

Superficial and Total Irradiation

In addition to conventional, high dose rate (HDR), and MR-based radiation therapy, specialized radiation treatments targeting superficial skin including small lesions and wide spread skin coverage as well as the whole body are also performed at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Benign Disease Procedure

Benign Disease

Benign tumors are non-cancerous masses that can occur any where in the body, and the development of these cells is quite random. High energy radiation therapy is a common treatment option for benign tumors, resulting in either mass shrinkage or cell killing.
