Academic Support and Enrichment
Services and Resources
Academic Consultation
We support student success by assisting with a broad array of student needs and concerns. These include:
- the acclimation to increased academic demand
- the integration of knowledge and skills
- the navigation of institutional policies and requirements
- the strategic planning for future career paths
- the exploration of new strategies to excel academically
We aim to provide the most accurate information and the most relevant resources to guide and address student needs throughout their academic career.
Peer Tutoring
MCW’s tutor team is available to assist students with the medical school and pharmacy school curriculum, as well as the homogenous pieces of the graduate school curriculum. This team expands to the regional campuses and provides online appointments for quick accessibility. Our tutors work closely with MCW Course Directors, faculty, and staff to provide exceptional academic support and meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Academic Enhancement
MCW’s Academic Enhancement is an outstanding supplemental instruction program provided throughout the M1, M2, and M3 year. Tutors are MCW medical students who work closely with Academic Support and Enrichment and Course Directors and Coordinators to provide accurate, up-to-date information to be delivered in line with the course syllabus.
Boards Preparation
A number of resources are available to prepare and guide students as they study for the USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 CK Exams.
Office of Student Accessibility
MCW’s Office of Student Accessibility partners with students to ensure access and remove barriers in the academic environment. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities, health conditions, or temporary needs. The Office of Student Accessibility works closely with students, faculty, and staff to support an accessible learning experience.
