What our Alumni Say about the Impact Pharmacists Can Make

Alberto Aranda, PharmD, in graduation robes and cap at the MCW School of Pharmacy Hooding Ceremony in 2023.

"During the MCW PharmD program, I learned that I really enjoyed the clinical aspect of pharmacy — being able to take input from a team of doctors and nurses, assess labs and cultures, think about what works best for the patient’s lifestyle and socioeconomic position. You’re helping put the puzzle pieces together and figuring out what will work best to keep your patients healthy."

"Working in clinical development, being able to see the improvements we've made and new treatments we've brought to patients is exciting for me. There are so many diseases that leave people with a poor quality of life. Having an awareness that I'm part of the team that impacts them is rewarding."

Rachael Jaszczenski, PharmD, alumna of the MCW School of Pharmacy, stands in front of a mural at Children's Wisconsin.

"Some research indicates that more than half of individuals who struggle with mental health conditions in their lifetime start experiencing symptoms before the age of 14. The problem with that is the average length of time between symptoms appearing and the start of treatment is more than 10 years. At Children's Wisconsin, we're working to address that gap in mental health services."
