About the Celebration

The inaugural Next and Notable Awards Night is a private celebration that honors outstanding students distinguished by academic excellence and service, as well as alumni whose leadership shapes both their professions and the communities they serve. The evening’s program includes presentations of Alumni Association awards and the Zeit Society student awards.

Zeit Society Student Awards

The Zeit Society presents the Walter Zeit Fellowship awards that recognize and reward exceptional graduating students who demonstrate values of leadership, loyalty, service, initiative, and compassion – the values exemplified by Dr. Walter Zeit. The fellowship honors one student annually with the Walter Zeit Leadership Award, three students with the Founding Deans Awards, and one new student who receives the Marie E. Zeit Scholarship. The students’ achievements reflect the very spirit of the alumni community that supports them.

Alumni Association Awards

Each year, the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association selects individuals for its highest honors to acknowledge their contributions to improving health through medicine, science, and other means. Recipients are recognized across six award categories, including outstanding alumni from the School of Medicine, School of Graduate Studies, and School of Pharmacy, as well as individuals who have demonstrated distinguished service, humanitarian impact, and enduring commitment to the Medical College of Wisconsin and its mission.
